Bruce Wilson

Bruce A. Wilson has dimensioning and tolerancing experience in both commercial and military applications that began in 1969 and includes applications in machine tools for automated fabrication, military transport and fighter aircraft, satellite communications hardware, precision mechanisms, optics packaging, and electronics packaging. Related manufacturing processes have included a wide range of detail part and assembly fabricating processes. Industrial experience includes working in manufacturing companies that range in size from 20 employees to a corporation of approximately 200,000 employees. He understands the validity and importance of GD&T in the smallest and largest of industrial environments.

Mr. Wilson is the author of the Design Dimensioning and Tolerancing series of books, which are in their third edition. He is also the author of the Dimensioning and Tolerancing Handbook and a software package of GD&T symbols for AutoCAD. He is a certified ASME Senior Level Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional, and was among the first in the nation to achieve this impressive certification.

Mr. Wilson is a member of the ASME Y14.5M subcommittee on Dimensioning and Tolerancing and was involved in developing the latest review of the standard. He is also active in the continuing development of the International Standards (ISO) on Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Development and leadership of GD&T programs combined with his leadership of GD&T implementation efforts have provided Mr. Wilson with efforts have provided Mr. Wilson with experience that is essential to conducting effective and practical training programs for engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance professionals.
